About Me

(Meet more of my lovely clients in my gallery!)

I’m a licensed, insured, and pet-CPR certified sitter (and walker/runner/hiker!) with more than fifteen years of professional experience caring for animals. I began dog walking and pet sitting in Boston in my early twenties, continued my work with an independent pet care company in Pioneer Valley, and eventually founded Pet Care with Emily. I walk pets of all breeds, sizes, and ages, and love those facing behavioral and medical challenges (more on that in the “special needs” tab), and my work is pet-centered. I prioritize pet’s autonomy, consent, and honoring their inherent resilience of mind, body, and soul.

While most of my experience is working with pets with behavioral and medical challenges, I strongly believe that what I’ve learned from these pets benefits all pets. Every animal is deeply unique- not just those with identified struggles- and every animal benefits from a caregiver committed to learning their personal preferences and needs, communication styles, and what helps them feel safe and understood. These are principles I've built my career around, and they're just as important for the happiest, most well-adjusted cat as they are for a struggling, reactive dog.

Beyond my professional work, I've fostered dozens of rescue animals and volunteered extensively in the medical departments of two animal shelters. Through this work, I earned certification in Fear Free® pet care techniques, an approach that emphasizes reducing fear, anxiety, and stress while handling and caring for animals.

I'm available for long-term pet sitting, work every holiday, and do my best to accommodate last-minute requests whenever my schedule allows. My goal is build a trusting relationship with your family by providing dependable, flexible, tailored care, that gives both pets and their people peace of mind.

In my free time, I stay active through running, cycling, and yoga. I’m a “plant person,” in addition to being an animal person, and enjoy trying to identify native plants, playing around with flowers, and cooking vegan meals. I like to wrap it all up with really pretty much any dating show available- please let me know if your pet would like to Netflix binge with me!
